Most recently, I worked as a product manager, interaction designer and software engineer for Ignighter, a group to group dating service. As Ignighter is a privately funded startup, I got to wear many hats and my involvement in projects included concept development all the way through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Ignighter Magazine
Ignighter Magazine is Ignighter's online publication on dating. Users can subscribe to magazine articles via email.
Ignighter Landing Page
We created a new landing page alternative that provides a microsite experience, like Netflix does, providing more information about Ignighter.
UI for Ignighter's Payment System
We needed to consolidate the different payment pages into a single one and add PayPal as an alternative payment method.
For Xanga.com
After graduate school, I've worked on numerous web projects for Xanga.com, where I was a product manager. Here you can find information on a select number of them.
momaroo
momaroo is a social networking/community site for moms powered by the Xanga platform. Moms can write blogs and connect with other moms on the site using the groups and forums features.
Xanga TV - Chat & Questions
Xanga TV is a Flash application that has a video broadcaster for live streaming, a chat component for viewers to chime in, and another component to submit and vote on questions.
Xanga Plugz
Xanga Plugz are little ads for blogs, created by the users to publicize their sites on Xanga. Plugz also help readers discover quality content by exposing them to bloggers that they would not otherwise be exposed to.
Academic Projects
During my time at the School of Information as a graduate student, I've completed many semester-long projects either individually or as a part of a multidisciplinary team. A few of those projects are listed below.
mLight
Our team developed a model for a hybrid (a mixture of centralized and distributed) lighting system that would provide calm, appropriate light where it was needed.
A UI Proposal for Camtasia Enterprise
For this project, we worked with TechSmith software engineers and product managers to develop a strategic and tactical plan for migrating the Camtasia product to the Mac OS X platform.
Deep Blue: A Usability Assessment
As part of a semester-long class project, our team evaluated usability, functionality and aesthetics of Deep Blue, University of Michigan's digital repository, using seven different techniques.
