momaroo

momaroo is a social networking/community site for moms powered by the Xanga platform. Moms can write blogs and connect with other moms on the site using the groups and forums features. It also has a group blog on the front page written by moms blogging anonymously.

As the product manager and sole designer for momaroo, I started with conducting research to build a brand identity for the site. After conceptualization, I transferred my vision into a brand consistent visual design by creating the logo, choosing a color palette and deciding on other aspects of look and feel. The next step was to create wireframes to communicate the structure, content, information hierarchy, functionality and behavior of the individual pages. After the wireframes were finalized, I worked with a small team of engineers to get the site implemented. After extensive testing on all major browsers, I coordinated the site's launch on Mother's Day 2008.

I was also responsible for finding bloggers for the group blog.
